Meet our founder

Several years ago I was juggling a demanding career in London and alongside a fast-paced lifestyle, it quickly became exhausting.

I eventually suffered a burn out; physically and mentally. With the help of therapy and support from my husband Jonathan, I slowly recovered and in that process realised that I never took time for myself. I wanted to practise a bit more self-care but did not know how. Then, someone recommended yoga and meditation – I gave it a go and was hooked from my first sun salutation!

Slowly I also found my way back to art. I had painted practically all my life but stopped picking up my paintbrushes when London life came along. When I started painting again a few years ago I found that being creative was one of the best ways to calm the mind.

I hope to encourage others to lead a more mindful and creative life and hence The Nook was born. Whether you have come here for a yoga class or an art workshop, or to purchase a calligraphy kit to indulge in at home, know that you have done amazingly to take time for yourself today.

Much love,
Michelle
